James' favorite new toy

Two months old

Well, James made it to two months old. He just had his 2 month appointment with his doctor this week, and he has grown to 11 pounds 7 ounces, and 25 inches in length. He's getting stronger every day; he holds his head up and looks around for several seconds at a time, and he's making motions with his torso and legs that would suggest he's trying to prepare for crawling. He's interacting with people and toys, and is getting much better at entertaining himself for longer periods of time.

He is taking up a lot more space in his Star Trek onesie.

Favorite napping spot

For some reason, James thinks Mickey Mouse is hilarious. He likes making faces at the toy. I think he's waiting to see if Mickey will make faces back ;)

Believe it or not, James put this Clifford on his own face so he could take a nap. I think it's bizarre, but he loves to have his face burrowed into one of our shoulders or one of these WubbaNubs sitting right on his face.

These smiles are getting more and more common. It's a lot of fun figuring out what's going to make him smile and laugh next.

More funny Mickey Mouse. James is starting to love his crib mobile. He can lay there for quite awhile watching it go around, but he yells at us when the music stops so we can go back in and wind it up again, haha.

James takes over

These days we find our lives have been completely taken over by our little boy - not that we're complaining. We constantly have the camera out, and when I can't reach for that, I'm taking pictures with my cell phone every time James does something cute. Since I'm his mother, I find that EVERYTHING he does is adorable, so that makes for a lot of pictures. I thought I'd just post a bunch of those taken to date here.

Baby's first bath

James did NOT like his first bath.

And when I say he didn't like it, I mean to say that he was screaming hysterically the entire time we bathed and dressed him.

After the bath as we dried him off, James looked at us like we had betrayed him.

Thank goodness for George - the monkey WubbaNub. He makes everything better, as far as James is concerned.

One month old

James hit his one month mark on January 16th. We decided that we would start taking pictures of him in the same outfit every month to show how much he is growing over the next several months. Here he is at one month.

Of course we picked his Captain Kirk onsie ;)

Notice the progression of the photos as we take away the binky.
